WGA Registration Number: 1282332
Log Line: Infidelity turns to murder when a traveling writer and a millionaire's abused wife drift into a torrid and destructive love affair.
Synopsis: Gale Puttick has it all. Or so it seems until traveling writer Tony Romero drifts into her secret life of quiet desperation as a handyman at Puttick’s Nursery Farm, owned by Gale’s abusive husband Howard. Within a short time, Tony and Gale become involved in an obsessive and torrid love affair, which results in a plot to get rid of Howard. When the first murder attempt fails, Howard decides to dramatically change his life, sell the vast expanse of valuable land he owns outside of Boston, and move to an isolated spot in Maine. Desperate to escape Howard’s clutches and permanently void the marriage pre-nup, Gale convinces Tony to embark on another murder scheme, which doesn’t go quite as planned. The seeds of destruction are immediately sown for Gale and Tony as tension, deceit, betrayal, and treachery are ultimately unleashed with devastating, perilous, and shocking consequences.
"Escape from Quiet Desperation" was chosen as one of the top 100 winning screenplays in FilmMakers International Screenwriting Awards Contest.
